We had a wonderful visit to Terry’s Fish Bar recently and were thoroughly impressed. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious – fresh, perfectly cooked, and really good value for money. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted spot on.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Although there were no waiting staff on the day we visited, they had the brilliant idea to serve us takeaway, which we were then invited to enjoy in the restaurant. It was a simple yet genius solution that worked perfectly and made us feel well looked after.
A special mention must also go to the great playlist they had on – it added to the lively, positive vibe of the place. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend Terry’s Fish Bar to anyone looking for excellent food, good value, and great service.- Service

Terry's Fish Bar – Bank Holiday Visit (5th May)

My wife and I visited Terry's Fish Bar today, Bank Holiday Monday (5th May), around 12:30pm. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and told there would be around a 20 minute wait for a table. We were shown to a small seating area, and ended up being seated in just 10 minutes.
Our table was clean and comfortable, and we were given time to look over the menu. After about 10 minutes, our order was taken: we both chose the Regular Cod and Chips, added mushy peas, and a Yorkshire tea each.
The food came out quickly, within 15 minutes and was beautifully presented. The cod was coated in a thin, crispy batter and tasted fantastic. The chips were exactly what you'd want from a proper chip shop , As for the mushy peas, they were a bit too smooth for my taste, but my wife enjoyed hers so a matter of preference.
The tea came in teapots with extra water, which we appreciated. It was hot, flavourful, and rounded off the meal nicely.
The only small downside was the pace , our plates were taken away just as we’d put our cutlery down, which made us feel a little rushed. That said, it was clearly a busy Bank Holiday, so it’s understandable.
Overall, a very positive experience solid 8/10 from us. Friendly staff, great food, and we'd definitely recommend a visit.

We were made very welcome by the waiting staff. All 5 of us enjoyed our meals but the winner for me was the fish pie. We enjoyed the music playing in the background not too loud to stop us enjoying a conversation. I us a power wheelchair and staff were very helpful getting us seated.

Some of the best seafood I've ever eaten. We had the seafood platter and every bit of it was perfectly cooked. The batter was light and the fish (as you would hope in Whitby) was so fresh tasting. The share platter was great value at £32. The Scottish lady who served us was super friendly. It was a great meal. Oh and deep fried black pudding. A revelation.

Really enjoyed our food, everyone talks about the Magpie fish and chips in Whitby as being amazing, but we always have our dog with us and they aren’t allowed in the cafe. No such problem at Terrys, we and our dog were made very welcome a dog bowl was delivered as soon as we arrived. The food was absolutely AWESOME I am not sure how fish and chips could be any better, well done to everyone

We always go to terrys for lunch when in Whitby. Generous helpings and delicious. Staff are lovely and friendly can’t do enough. This is so much better than The Magpie. Would not go anywhere else. Be back very soon

Me and my husband both got fish, chips and curry sauce. Couldn't fault it, it was lovely, the portion wasn't too big either. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was dog friendly. Will definitely eat there again.

Had a fantastic meal whilst visiting Whitby on holiday, exceptionally attentive staff who were very friendly. The food was the best we've had here in Whitby, and the fish pie was the best my parents have tried through their travels across the world. Absolute compliments to the chef 👨🍳👌

We went to Terry's for late lunch while on holiday and visiting Whitby. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even bringing a water bowl for our greyhound to have a drink, Yes they allow dogs inside. Would highly recommend 👌. We will be going back.

Lovely eat in place. We were looking for somewhere to have our evening meal and stumbled across this beauty of a place. Warm friendly greeting upon entrance. Food was lovely, really nice fish n chips. 😋 Pleasant atmosphere I especially liked the decor and the music. Nicole was so lovely and polite.
